Have a Romantic Easter Holiday with Easter Theme Games & Chocolate Easter Gift Baskets

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

It’s time we started associating Easter with some of the more romantic holidays. It is, of course, a religious holiday, but so is Christmas. Many couples find time for romance during the Christmas holiday. Why shouldn’t they do the same at Easter? The start of spring, the warmth in the air, and the rebirth of nature make the Easter season ripe for romance. So this Easter weekend, treat your gal or guy to an Easter date.

Plan your romance for Friday or Saturday of Easter weekend. That way, your plans for romance won’t interfere with any church services, kid’s egg hunts or family dinners that are planned for Easter Sunday.

One of the great things about romance is that it’s not necessary to make grand gestures and spend lots of money to let the one you love know how you feel. The Easter season lends itself to simple, romantic and fun ideas. Go with them and you won’t go wrong. Don’t be fooled into thinking that women always need a big show to know they are cared about. It’s been my experience that it’s the little, thoughtful things that really melt a girl’s heart.

Easter Wishes to Easter Flowers and Bunnies

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Everybody knows the history of Easter, right? It’s the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus, right? Well, yes and no. We’ve done some digging and found that Easter had it’s crude beginnings before Jesus was born. We’re going to tell you all about it. And we’re also going to tell you how the Easter bunny came about. Surprisingly enough, they were actually connected - also before Jesus was born. Check this out.

Christian missionaries convert the Saxons The ancient Saxons loved their festivals. They loved towell, just party. They had all kinds of things they found occasion to celebrate and, to justify these raucous festivities, they designated them as religious observances.

During the second century, Christian missionaries were spreading out among the Teutonic tribes north of Rome. Everywhere they went, they encountered the Saxons, celebrating their numerous heathen religious festivals. Of course, they saw all this as blasphemy and sacrilege and their goal was to convert the Saxons. But they had to be very careful in their approach because if they were too obvious, they could be persecuted and end up dead. Jesus was a perfect example of that!

Are There Easter Gifts you Can Give That Aren’t Solely Chocolates?

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Easter is a lovely holiday. It’s like Christmas without the pressure of weeks of shopping and catering preparations. It also marks the beginning of spring; a change in season that is always welcome, particularly when the weather is expected to improve. The days are getting longer and brighter and outside is less bleak. Leaves are budding on the trees, bulbs are starting to peek through the muddy flower beds and your cat starts hunting again (those poor baby birds).

Easter in 2008 comes early and will be held this year on Sunday 23rd March. The date for this festival is a movable feast changing each year and is decided by the cycle of the moon.

Easter comes at the end of Lent when traditionally Christians have been fasting for forty days. After denying themselves good Christians are ready for some feasting. The egg symbolises new life and Easter recognises the rebirth of Christ. This is the reason we celebrate with chocolate eggs, simnel cake with marzipan eggs and roast spring lamb. For the non-religious Easter is a celebration of spring and the egg is also a symbol of this season with newly hatched chicks in abundance.

Why Gift Baskets Make Great Gifts

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

Perhaps you are facing a dilemma: you need to give a special family member, friend or work associate a lovely gift, but you are not sure what gift. You go online and there are so many choices that it is hard to know where to begin searching. There is one easy solution, however, that is sure to please everyone on your list, and that is a gift basket. Gift baskets make great gifts because of their versatility. They can be personalized to each recipient’s particular tastes, can be designed around particular themes, and their presentation makes them a delight to receive.

One reason why gift baskets make such fantastic gifts is their ability to be arranged to each recipient’s specific tastes. An empty basket is an open vessel waiting to be filled, and you can make sure each and every gift recipient is happy when you take advantage of personalized gift baskets. If you have a sports enthusiast on your list, for example, you can include sports-related gift items focused on this special someone’s activity. It might be tennis or golf, or any host of other athletics, but a basket can hold several different accessories or supplies that will make your friend or relative smile with delight. Maybe you would like to pamper someone. One way to do that would be to give a gift basket that offers spa treatments, lotions, body creams and sponges, and other special items that your friend would especially enjoy.
